We have heard these words before "Husbands, love your wives, jus as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her." I feel fairly certain that many men don't have a problem with this. I mean how many men have been called to give his life up for his wife. With all the men who have lived I would say that percentage is pretty low.
That brings me to John chapter 13. Go read it real quick, I'll wait.
It is the story of when Jesus washed the feet of the disciples. What is telling about this, this is a menial task for the lowest of slaves. Even Jewish slaves did not have to perfom this task only the gentile slaves.1 Maybe you can see where I am going with this. Maybe not. But think about it, the Savior, the Creator, God with us, probably, no not probably, definitely the only one who is worth of glory and honor and praise, did the work that most would consider beneath them. That would be like cleaning the bathroom today.
Now think about this, the church is the bride of Christ. Christ is not above the loweliest task. What does that tell you men? Do I need to spell it out.
